Madmast - Intoxicated with his own power

I have been fascinated by these gentle giants ever since I first saw them. No predator exists which can take on the mighty elephant. Even the king of jungle - lion, moves away when the elephant descends on the waterhole. Incredible size with amazing textures and fascinating form. I wanted to explore them all in this painting. Beautiful lighting highlighting the form, various textures on the forehead, trunk and wrinkles on the body. Magnificent ivory tusks. Wisdom in the eyes. Beautiful aura formed by the dust. Of course the canvas needed to be this big to do any justice.
